The Who, What, Where, When and How of Sustainability

This course can be presented in person (1 day) or online in 4 modules, which will cover the following:

Module 1: Introduction to Sustainability

A general introduction to sustainability, including topics such as: differences between ESG, CSR and Sustainability; the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); the UN Global Compact; GRI; TFCD, myths and facts, etc.

Module 2: Social/Economic Sustainability

Delving into the specifics of: Social sustainability; human capital, labour rights, human rights, gender equity, diversity and philanthropy & Economic sustainability; supplier diversity; procurement (ethical sourcing); employment; supply chain risk; innovation

Module 3: Environmental Sustainability

Delving into what Environmental Sustainability is and how small changes can have large impacts. Areas to be explored are greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), carbon offsets, eco-labelling, sustainable sourcing, packaging, waste management and reverse logistics.

Module 4: Governance and Metrics

Governance is key to the success for the implementation of a sustainability program. This module will consider the elements of organizational (including procurement) policy, structure (organizational and board), committee terms of reference, and assessment of supply chain risk. Discussed as part of this module will be third party assessments.
