Sustainability (ESG), Diversity and Inclusion

  • Developed a sustainability strategy for a large organization, that incorporated social, economic and environmental aspects. Included implementable policies and processes across the supply chain (including procurement), mapping to SDGs and GRIs, and HR options to enhance diversity and inclusion
  • Working with a 3PL, provided a sustainability assessment, which included a view into the competitive and client landscape, identified gaps and provided implementable recommendations — short, medium, long term — that embraced social, economic, and environmental considerations to ensure that the organization met client expectations as well as ensuring a competitive advantage.
  • Developed a sustainable procurement framework and operationalized sustainability in all procurement activities in 95 countries globally, to become the default for over a $1B dollars of spend. Drove organization to be the most highly recognized organization globally for sustainable procurement by a certifying body.
  • Developed a thought leadership report/approach for a government client on how to engage with small/medium enterprises, particularly with indigenous, minority and women-owned businesses; for another Created a unique global approach for supplier diversity and inclusion in developing countries focused on SMEs – women/youth owned, which won global recognition for supplier diversity and inclusion.
  • Initiated, developed and implemented a supply chain risk protocol/programme to ensure that human rights abuses, SEA, poor working conditions, modern day slavery etc. are identified and eradicated.
  • Developed innovative approaches to sustainability, altering delivery methods, packaging, demand management and warehousing retrofit resulting in reduced waste and GHG emissions which could be reported directly to the clients. Resulted in:
    • a) reduced costs
    • b) being a key differentiator with clients therefore achieving greater retention of existing clients and increasing new client growth.
  • Developed a Gender Mainstreaming in procurement policy/approach, and training program to support Gender in Procurement.
